About Mrs. Barker

Hello! My name is Ladonna and this is my 12th year teaching art at PCK. I have lived in Colorado for 20 years with 19 years being right here in Parker. I grew up in Southern California and graduated from Cal State Fullerton. After graduating, my husband and I picked up and moved to Colorado to follow our dreams. We had always dreamed of living here and raising a family in this beautiful state. I was fortunate to stay home with my children until they started school. Both of my children attended PCK. My son is in college at Gonzaga and my daughter is a senior.

When I'm not working, I enjoy being outdoors in our beautiful state. I also enjoy making and creating art. I recently took an acrylic pouring art class. I love to craft as well with friends and visit art shows and museums.

As you can see, I've got the perfect job. It never feels like work to me because I truly love what I do. Most of the children are excited to come to art and their enthusiasm inspires me. There is something special about children's artwork. I love seeing art through their eyes.

About Mrs. FitzRandolph

Hi, my name is Kim and I am thrilled to be on board teaching art alongside Mrs. Barker for my sixth year. I was also one of the original founding partners of Monart in Parker. I have been involved with art and teaching to children and adults aged 2-92 in many different settings.

I also am from California and grew up in San Diego. I attended college at Colorado State University where I met my husband and have called Colorado home ever since! My family has lived in Parker for 21 years now. Both of my children have attended PCK. Currently, my son is a senior and daughter is in middle school.

Previously, I worked at an advertising agency for fifteen years and produced tv and radio commercials. I then spent time raising my children during their younger years. During all of these years, art was my passion and I immersed myself in it every free moment! My hobbies include photography, altered art, journaling, painting, collage, writing, reading inspirational books, travel and having adventures with my family.

I have taken art classes in painting, printmaking, color theory, Gelli printmaking, collage, drawing, woodworking and sewing and look forward to sharing my experiences and knowledge with the students at PCK. What I love most about teaching young children is that they have such wonderful imaginations, they are open minded and they are not afraid to takes risks with their artwork. It is such a joy to show them how to emerge as artists!
